Early Life and Education

Marcello Andrés Hernández-González was born on August 19, 1997, in Miami, Florida.He is of Cuban descent on his mother's side and Dominican descent on his father's side.He attended Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in Miami and later graduated from John Carroll University in 2019 with a degree in Entrepreneurship and Communication.

Career Beginnings

Hernández began his comedy career by creating short-form videos on social media platforms, including TikTok. He gained attention through his work on "Only in Dade," a weekly review show about his hometown of Miami. In 2019, he moved to New York City to pursue stand-up comedy and was selected as a "New Face of Comedy" at the Just for Laughs festival in 2022. 

Saturday Night Live

In 2022, Hernández joined the cast of NBC's "Saturday Night Live" (SNL) as a featured player, becoming the show's first cast member from Generation Z. He was promoted to repertory status at the start of the show's 50th season in 2024. 

Hernández is known for his recurring character Domingo, introduced in a sketch aired on October 12, 2024. The character's popularity led to multiple appearances and even a live performance during a Sabrina Carpenter concert. 

Personal Life and Influence

Hernández often draws inspiration from his Cuban-Dominican heritage and family experiences. His "Protective Mom" sketch, inspired by his relationship with his mother, became one of the most-watched live sketches of SNL's 48th season. 

Beyond comedy, Hernández is passionate about baseball, a sport that resonates with his cultural background. He has collaborated with Major League Baseball in campaigns celebrating Latino influences in the sport.
